Patisserie Lebeau was founded by Olivier and Penny Lebeau in 1995. Born and raised in Belgium, Olivier Lebeau went through 3 years of rigorous apprenticeship training as a professional Pastry chef, and Penny graduated from the California Culinary Academy.
If you’ve ever stopped by their Kitsilano bakery (their first store) on a Sunday, you’ve seen the line-ups spilling onto west 1st avenue. The Brussels waffle, the centerpiece of their weekend menu, has been such a hit since they first opened their doors on Cypress Street back in 1995 that their loyal customers are willing to wait in line for their standout signature treat.

Come in and discover all the varieties of Belgian waffles, the light and crisp Brussels waffles, the famous Liege waffle and all the different fruit-filled, savory waffles and waffle sandwiches. They also serve other Belgian specialties, such as Rice Cream pie (“tarte au riz” from Verviers) and Cracquelin (brioche with nib sugar inside).
