A contemporary take on the cheesesteak sub shop, The American Cheesesteak Co. was founded on a passion for cheesesteak—a delicious concoction of beef and melted cheese that has become a sandwich of legendary proportions.

Brothers Pat and Harry Olivieri invented the iconic sandwich at their hot dog stand near South Philadelphia’s Italian Market in the 1930s. The cheesesteak became so popular that the pair stopped selling hot dogs altogether, later opening the renowned Pat’s King of Steaks in the place where their stand once stood. Today, Philadelphia has more than 2000 restaurants dedicated to serving this indulgence.

The American Cheesesteak Co. is proud to be the first Vancouver restaurant dedicated to this Italian-American tradition, serving authentic cheesesteaks crafted using the finest ingredients. Our sandwiches—made from tender shaved prime rib, proprietary seasonings, savory cheeses and freshly baked bread—are individually prepared and grilled to order.

In addition to the classic sandwich, we feature specialty cheesesteaks exclusive to The American Cheesesteak Co. These creations are our versions of the venerable classics and are not available anywhere else in North America.

Andy’s German Bakehaus, an artisan bakery established in 1957, are hiring an experienced pastry chef familiar with heavy duty, high volume fast-paced pastry production and product development.

Please drop off resumé at our store at 935 Commercial Drive in Vancouver, BC, or send to andysbakery@gmail.com

Sven Becker, 44, who bought Andy’s German Bakehaus on Commercial Drive in September, 2015.

Becker started his new career modestly enough four years ago, baking German-style cheesecakes in Bon Bon Bakery’s kitchen during their downtimes. He had just finished a research job at the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario and turned 40 years old. He turned down a post-doctoral position at the University of B.C. and decided to make a break for something new.

German baking is traditionally less sweet than most North American cakes. Becker made good cakes, and he soon found a modest market selling to little cafes, private customers and other bakeries. When Bon Bon closed while moving locations, he started renting the kitchen at Andy’s. Two years later, the owners offered him the business.

Messe Reise Markt Sucht Nachfolger

Eventuell hat ja jemand Interesse. Ich gebe das einfach uneigennützig mal weiter:

Liebe Kundinnen, liebe Kunden,

DESCRIPTION

Currently, we are looking for Language Quality Assurance Reviewers for various languages (Thai, Hindi, Japanese, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Traditional Chinese, French (France), Italian, Thai, Czech, Portuguese Brazilian and more…)

At Globalme, the Language Quality Assurance Reviewer is the guard of quality translations. You will need to review localized products such as websites, mobile applications, games, training etc. and ensure that these products are ready to be released to target markets. Some products will also require light functional testing. In addition to functional and linguistic reviews, a Quality Assurance Reviewer creates style guides and provides linguistic input as needed.

This is a project based, on call, part time position that can turn into a full time for the right candidates.

REQUIREMENTS

A language Quality Assurance Reviewer:

Is a native speaker of a target language, with higher education completed in their country.
Has excellent language skills (both in their own language and in English).
Pays close attention to detail – this is a must.
Is able to read and follow complex instructions.
Has a curious personality – you will need to investigate things, search on the Internet in ways that you have probably never searched before. Simply, you need a curious personality.
Needs to feel comfortable using computers (not only email, Facebook, and the internet). You will need to install/uninstall programs and find your way around.
Considers themselves as a tech savvy person.
Has an up to date computer with stable internet connection.

An ideal candidate is also:

Clever and fast — you understand things quickly and are not confused about simple things.
Computer savvy — you consider yourself as a technical person and get excited about new technologies, applications etc.
Driven — you’re not someone who needs to be micromanaged and you don’t wait around for problems or quality concerns to hit others’ radars before brainstorming a fix.
Problem solver — you figure out problems that rarely have textbook solutions. “Let me figure this out” is a sentence you use often.
Open to receiving feedback — you focus on solutions and improvements rather than finding excuses why something doesn’t work.
Positive — you have a “nothing is impossible attitude”. You believe that everything can be done.
Self-starter — you see a clear link between your actions and their outcomes. You don’t sit around and wait for others to tell you what to do.
Resourceful — you have a head with plenty of good ideas.
Eligible to work in Canada for at least 10 months from the application time.
Background in linguistics is preferred.
This is a project based, on call position where many projects can be done from home.
Compensation: Depending on experience, starting at $20 per hour

Languages we’re looking for:

German
Arabic
Czech
Danish
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Spanish (Spain and Latin America)
Traditional Chinese
