Prince of Wales Secondary School in Vancouver is holding a Multicultural Fair for the first time on Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 at 11:30 am. Six countries are participating and one of them is Germany.
As “Team Germany” is very small, we are hoping to find member of the German Community in Greater Vancouver who would be willing to help us out by sponsoring a German cake. Tickets for this event cost $3 and there will be Asian cuisine, Schnitzel prepared by Slovenia and Germany has been requested to provide desert-items. Black Forest Cherry Cake, Cheesecake, Strueselkuchen or just fun chocolate figurines (lady bugs, hearts, flowers etc.)
Germany will also be offering a Poster Board with cultural description – this is a project the Westside German School is helping with – a soccer wall – borrowed from Axel Rechlin Principal of the Surrey German School, and is attempting to organize a German hip hop Dance Group from students and parents from the PW Community organized by me. This is by far the biggest challenge.
We also need at least 2 volunteers at our table and 2 volunteers to organize the soccer wall.
It will be a fun event that gives us an opportunity to share some typical and modern German culture with high school students in Vancouver who may not even know anything about Germany!
If you would like to donate a cake or two, please contact Elke at 604 828 8788 and leave a message. You can also respond to this post below.
Please pass this request on to anyone you think may be interested in donating/volunteering.
