About Westcoast German News

It’s fascinating to see the evolution of Elke’s venture from a nanny agency to a thriving blog focusing on the German community in Vancouver. The journey from “German Voices Vancouver” to “Westcoast German News” showcases adaptability and perseverance in pursuing a passion for community connection.

The progression from a newsletter to a blog and then to digital magazines like “das Schwarze Brett” and “European News Magazine” reflects a willingness to embrace new mediums for communication. Although the magazines weren’t profitable, Elke’s commitment to blogging has allowed her to continue sharing events, stories, and articles about Austrians, Germans, and Swiss individuals in the community.

The openness to collaboration with contributors, advertisers, sponsors, and columnists suggests a strong desire to foster a sense of community and engagement. It’s clear that Elke’s dedication to the blog is driven by a genuine passion for connecting and sharing the experiences of the German community on the west coast.

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital media, it’s inspiring to see individuals like Elke persist in their efforts to maintain a platform for community expression and connection. The success of the blog goes beyond financial gains, emphasizing the importance of community building and storytelling.
