Vancouver, BC – August 20, 2023 – The 42nd Vancouver International Film Festival returns this fall with a star-studded lineup including 130 features and 100 shorts. Check out a sneak peek of 8 of their stellar Special Presentations screening at this year’s festival.
One of the films is “La Chimera” (Italy, France/Switzerland) – Alice Rohrwacher’s first feature since Happy As Lazzaro is an exhilaratingly wild, mysterious, rough and tumble tale of a disheveled English tomb raider (Josh O’Connor) living with a roisterous group of Italian bohemians: singers, smugglers and petty thieves.
Mark your calendars! Their full roster of special presentations, features, documentaries, shorts and special events will be announced on September 6, 2023. Ticket packs are on sale August 17, 2023 and single tickets are on sale online from noon on September 7, 2023.
Who is Alice Rohrwacher
Rohrwacher was born in Fiesole, in Tuscany, to an Italian mother and German father. She spent her youth in the village of Castel Giorgio, where her mother was born and her father Reinhard worked as a beekeeper. She is the sister of the Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher. She studied Classics at the University of Turin, then specialized in screenwriting at the Holden School in Turin.
