Multicultural Media Opportunity in Richmond

Elke at Mic

Thursday, May 5th, 2022, Richmond, BC. When David Tan sent me an invitation to the Multicultural Media event on behalf of the Canadian Community Service Association (CCSA), I had no idea what to expect. It turns out the CCSA was established in 2002 as a non-profit organization that promotes the spirit of community services, among the Chinese community, as well as multicultural communities, in order to organize and participate in various community activities.”

His short note to Westcoast German News stated:

I would like to have the pleasure to invite you to join us on Thursday, May 5th from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Jiu Tang Feng Tavern. The address is 8291 Alexandra Rd #150, Richmond, BC V6X 1C3.

The event is the multicultural media meeting of CCSA Association ( You will have the chance to get to know eight Chinese media companies so you can establish your event promotion channel in the Chinese community.

Please kindly check your schedule to see if you could find time to attend the meeting. It will be wonderful to meet you and thank you very much for your support.

Besides members of the CCSA, the event had AnnaKarin Tornqvist from the Scandinavian Community Centre, Stefano Dal Farra from the Italian Chamber of Commerce West, Mass Abedi with AhornTV (German TV), Sean Lee, a 2022 City Councillor Candidate for Coquitlam and myself in attendance.

We listened to speeches in English and Chinese and then had a chance to introduce ourselves. This was a very interesting opportunity to meet with other members of the ethnic community and to exchange thoughts, ideas, events and invitations.

This was a great networking event and we were all happy to meet so many new people. Very inspiring.

Here is the Proclamation Week Document they introduced us to. It turns out that July 20th to July 26th is the Chinese Cultural Heritage Week. They are working on a large Festival at the Swangard Stadium in Burnaby that everyone is invited to! Last year’s Festival Link can be found here:
